HDW – heat declared winner. i.e. no Finals

PB – personnel best time.

DQ – disqualified.

DNF – did not finish the race

Flyer – left the starting block before the whistle

IM – Individual Medley (Butterfly, Backstroke, Breaststroke, Front crawl)

Age on Day – Age on the first day of the gala you are entering.

Freestyle – any stroke you like – but usually front crawl as this is the fastest stroke.

‘B’ Grade – these galas are for the beginner/less experienced competitors. Times cannot exceed the times shown on the information sheet – posted on notice board.

‘A’ Grade – for swimmers who are too fast for a ‘B’ grade meet. Times cannot exceed those shown on the information sheet.

Closing Date – date by which the entry form and fee must be in to Carys or Jan.
